Educational Methods and Activities for Volunteer Development:

In order to provide safe and secure learning environments for 4-H youth, Clover County utilizes 16 full time club volunteers, 25 project volunteers, 43 resource or episodic volunteers, and 39 youth volunteers.  These volunteer fulfill a variety of roles, from leading clubs, planning and implementing workshops, camps, and school enrichment programs, chaperoning overnight events, and serving in an advisory role to recommend county policy and procedure. 

Volunteer meetings are held ____ times a year in order to enhance communication and make volunteers aware of opportunities for youth and adults.  In addition, ____ 4-H Advisory and Expansion and Review Committee meetings are held annually.  ____ project leader meetings are held annually, and ____ fair committee meetings are held annually.  ____ County/district/state council meetings are held annually.

 

Volunteer trainings and certification programs are important in order to provide safe and secure environments for 4-H youth.  ____ volunteer trainings are available on an annual basis for youth and adult volunteers at the local, district, and regional levels.   In addition, certification programs ranging from 6 hours to 20 hours are required for all 4-H chaperones, shooting sports instructors, and camp counselors.  ___ club officer trainings are held each year to train youth in leadership roles.

 

Volunteer consulations are conducted one-on-one via email, phone, or in person.  The 4-H agent provides approximately _____ individual volunteer consulations annually.

In order to support the many different delivery methods used to teach life skills, the _____ County 4-H Program utilizes ____ full and part-time volunteers.  These volunteers not only work directly with youth, but also serve as middle managers to help manage various aspects of the 4-H program such as outreach, fundraising, and marketing.  In order to manage volunteers for program delivery and resource development, volunteer meetings, trainings/certifications, and consultations are regularly conducted by the 4-H agent.  The agent also works with the volunteers to coordinate marketing efforts which include community presentations, exhibits, newsletters, and media relations.
