COVID-19 Impact on Extension Scheduling

All UF/IFAS Extension programs, events, and meetings scheduled through April 30 have been postponed/canceled due to direction from the University of Florida concerning COVID-19.

Any events, meetings or programs offered online or via video conference, Facebook etc. are still being held. We are working quickly to reschedule postponed events.

As always, Extension Agents are available for consultation at the local Extension office, by email, or by calling your local Extension office.

The disappointment and inconvenience these cancellations will cause are obvious, but the safety and well-being of our clientele, faculty, and staff are paramount.

Wash your hands!

Leave Behind Materials when meeting with Elected Officials

There’s an old saying in Washington: “You’re only as effective as the paper you leave behind.” Translated into beyond-the-beltway- speak, this means that a successful lobbyist (professional or amateur) must write and leave behind documents that are clear, concise, and memorable. This best practices guide provides some recommendations about how to write advocacy documents that get read and not discarded.

Check out all the Best Practice Guides at http://www.land-grant.org/ but as your
team begins to form here’s a quick look at “what to leave behind” http://www.land-grant.org/docs/guides/LBM.pdf
