The 36th annual UF/IFAS Peanut Field Day took place this past Thursday, August 14th at the North Florida Research and Education Center in Marianna.   The event showcased some of the latest research being conducted on peanut production from the University of Florida, all of which was focused on increasing farmer’s productivity and providing a better product to the consumer.

Topics covered on the tours included new peanut varieties, weed and disease control methods, and technology for determining proper harvest time for peanuts. The event was attended by about 140 peanut producers, research and extension faculty and industry representatives  from North Florida, Alabama and Georgia.
