Farmers from Northwest Florida and surrounding areas are invited to attend the 2017 Crop Production Meeting to be held on Tuesday, February 28. The meeting will be hosted by UF/IFAS Extension, Santa Rosa and Escambia Counties, at the Jay Community Center, 5259 Booker Lane, Jay, FL. Registration begins at 7:00 AM (CST) with the meeting starting at 7:30 AM. There will be an industry sponsored lunch from 12:15 – 1:00 PM, and 3.5 Pesticide Applicator License CEUs have been approved.
Topics to be discussed during the morning session include:
- Crop variety updates,
- New Dicamba and 2,4-D resistant cotton varieties,
- Nutrient management,
- Crop disease control recommendations,
- Updates from FSA, NRCS, FDACS and pest control.
There will be an industry sponsored lunch from 12:15 – 1:00 PM.
The afternoon session is for those with a vested interest in feral hog control. Topics to be discussed include:
- Wild Hog Control to remove the entire sounder, and a Jager Pro Hog Control Equipment Demonstration.

3.5 Pesticide Applicator CEUs Available
Florida restricted use pesticide license CEUs will be available. Florida RUP applicators can earn 3.5 CEUs in the following approved categories: (1) Private Applicator (2) Ag Row Crop (3) Demo/Research and 1 CEU in the Aerial category. Pesticide CEUs have been requested but not yet approved for Alabama applicators, as well as for Certified Crop Advisors (CCA).
