UF 2021 Heifer Sale

57 Heifers from the University of Florida’s Beef Research Units near Gainesville will be sold through a phone auction on February 8.

The University of Florida  will be offering 57 head of crossbred yearling heifers for sale to the public from the Beef Units located near Gainesville, on Monday, February 8, 2021. These animals will be sold in 12 lots, with each lot consisting of 3 to 6 head of uniform heifers. All the heifers are various crossbred percentages of Angus X Brahman breeding. Most are black.

Due to Coronavirus restrictions, they will be using a different method of selling the cattle this year.  On Monday, at 6:00 PM EST the live auction will begin. You can attend by conference call or via a Zoom video conference. Before bidding begins, the high reserve bids for each of the lots will be announced. Then they will begin the phone auction through the lots in order, opening the bidding with the highest reserve bid amount received. If there are no additional phone bids, the high reserve bid takes the lot. If anyone on the phone places a higher bid, the lot will be sold to a bidder over the phone.

Videos of the heifers, performance data, and more details about the sale are available by using the following link:
