This week’s featured video was produced by Lisa Baxley, UGA Forage Extension Specialist, as part of a new YouTube Channel called Georgia Forages. In her video, “How to use a grazing stick,” Lisa explains how to use this simple tool to make grazing management decisions. With the addition of a of a few data charts, the height of the forage can be used to estimate available forage in pounds per acre, number of grazing days of a given pasture for a herd of cattle, or how much area is required to feed a herd for a set amount of time.
