The Walton County Extension Service will host a beef cattle seminar and dinner on the evening of Thursday, September 23, 2021. It will be held at the Walton County Fairgrounds at 790 N. 9th St. (Hwy 83), DeFuniak Springs, FL. Registration for the event will start at 5 PM CDT and the dinner will start around 5:30. The registration fee for the event is $10/person, payable at the event. Please RSVP with the Walton County Extension office at (850) 892-8172 by September 21st.

The seminar will feature several specialists from the University of Florida/IFAS, Alabama Cooperative Extension, and other organizations. Topics addressed will include: potential for silage in backgrounding diets, annual forage variety options and establishment, economics of concentrate feed supplements, and herd health.

A boneless beef loin from Norris Custom Meats will also be raffled off to benefit the Panhandle Cattlemen’s Association scholarship fund. Each person registered for the event will receive one ticket and additional tickets can be purchased at the event for $2/each, or 3 for $5.
