The 23rd Florida Bull Test was conducted at the University of Florida’s North Florida Research and Education Center (NFREC), near Marianna, Florida.  There were 96 consignments from 20 consignors from Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi.  There were 34 Angus, 1 Black Hereford, 1 Brahman, 2 Brangus, 10 Charolais, 10 Red Angus, 2 Red Brangus, 3 Red Wagyu, 23 SimAngus, and 9 Simmental consignments born between August 15 and December 31 of 2021. Bulls were delivered in late July and initiated their 112-day test on August 10, 2022.  The last day of test was November 30, 2022.  In addition, a hallmark of the FL Bull Test is that individual feed intake is assessed to establish feed efficiency.    At completion of the test the entire group of bulls averaged 3.81 pounds of gain per day but ranged from 2.32 to 5.92 pounds per day.
