Join us for a Cattle and Crop BMP Farm Tour on March 9th, 2023 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM CST.
Producers will share experiences implementing Best Management Practices (BMPs) to enhance production and profit, while also achieving conservation objectives. Tour participants will hear first-hand how BMP cost-share conservation programs have enhanced their operations. These enhancements include financial support for equipment and management practices such as cross-fencing and rotational grazing management, no-till drills, cover crops, irrigation management, fertigation systems, nurse tanks, sod-based rotation, and more. UF/IFAS NFREC faculty will discuss ongoing research on Carinata as a potential cover crop for additional farm income, and also winter forages used for both cover crops and cool-season grazing in integrated livestock/row crop systems. State & federal agency staff will discuss technical and financial assistance to implement BMPs and the cost-share programs available for crop and cattle producers.
