Friday Feature: Advantage Feeders – Limit Feeding Technology for Livestock

At the recent Northwest Florida Beef Cattle Conference, held in Marianna on February 11, 2026, DLA Ranch was one of the Trade Show Exhibitors as a distributor for some very interesting limit-feeding technology.  The product line they brought to showcase were Advantage Feeders.  Watch the video to hear an explanation of this unique feeding system.  Basically, the feed drops into small slots that must be licked out by livestock.  Because their tongues dry out in about 5 minutes, they are forced to snack and go back to grazing or hay.  With this unique system, livestock are not allowed to over-consume supplemental grain or pelleted feeds.  So, producers can fill feeders and continuously supplement pastures or hay without issues of founder or rumen acidosis.
