Highlights from the Monday Spouses and Life Members Wetlands Tour

Our NACAA Spouses and Life Members group took in the sights and sounds of wildlife living at the manmade Wakodahatchee wetlands created by Palm Beach County Water Utilities.

We saw anhinga birds diving for fish, wood storks flying overhead, snowy egrets nesting and many other birds.  The iguanas were plentiful, ambling about and hanging out in trees.  Crystal, the momma alligator, watched us as she stood guard over her nest.

Our next stop was to Green Cay wetlands where Farmer Ted Winsberg shared why he sold 150 acres to Palm Beach County Water Utilities at about a third of its appraised value.  Mr. Winsberg believes in giving back to the community and inspired us to do the same.
