Volunteer Training

In northwest Florida, we offer support 4-H volunteers through one on one consultations, meetings, workshops, and forums.  Trainings focus on positive youth development, club organization, risk management, and subject matter content (4-H curriculum).  Training is available both online and face to face.

On-line Training– Our on-line training series is titled, Make a Difference Mondays, and occurs on the 3rd Monday of the month.  Sessions are recorded and archived for later viewing.  The 4-H Orientation Series and UF Youth Protection Volunteer Training are also available online.

Face to Face Training

  • Super Saturday Seminars- Super Saturday Seminars on some of our most popular and requested project areas.
  • District Forums- district volunteer forums which are usually held at one of our 4-H Camping centers Friday-Saturday.
  • State Forums- Florida 4-H also has an annual Florida -H Volunteer Leader Forum at the Ocala Hilton September 26-27.  This forum is organized by our volunteer specialist, Dr. Bryan Terry, and the Florida 4-H Volunteer Association.
  • Youth Development Institute (YDI)- this is a three-day training held at the Ocala Hilton every January for both Extension Agents and Volunteers.

Most counties also offer regular volunteer training several times during the year in order to accommodate the schedules of busy volunteers.  Check with your local 4-H Extension Agent to inquire about local training opportunities.
