Pest Patrol Hotline HeaderSyngenta has sponsored a Pest Patrol Hotline for row crop producers.  Each week the Pest Patrol Hotline (toll free call) offers timely pest updates from leading university entomologists. Listen to recorded messages that provide reports on current threat levels, local area outbreak predictions, treatment recommendations and more.

While Florida does not have a specialist participating in this service, both Georgia and Alabama do.  Dr. Phillip Roberts provides weekly insect pest updates from Georgia, and Dr. Ron Smith from Alabama.

Phone Tree Shortcuts:

  1.  Dial 1-877-285-8525

  2. When promoted dial 1, then 2, then 4 for Dr. Ron Smith, Auburn Entomologist

  3. When promoted dial 1, then, 3, then 4 for Dr. Phillip Roberts, UGA Entomologist

Farmers can even get text notifications, when new recordings are available each week.  Sign up for notifications of new pest alerts via text messages on your phone:

  1. Send a text message to 97063 with the message: “PESTPAT10” (for Phillip Roberts)

  2. Reply with the letter “Y” to confirm the service.

  3. Send a text message to 97063 with the message: “PESTPAT11” (for Ron Smith)

  4. Reply with the letter “Y” to confirm the service.
