Spring Turkey Hunting Season in North Florida is March 16 – April 2, 2019. This week’s featured video, called “Cooking with the Osceola Turkey” was published as a partnership between the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation (FWC) Commission and the Florida Department of Agriculture’s Chef, Justin Timineri to promote Florida’s abundant wild turkey populations that can provide healthy and delicious meals for sportsman. But, the primary reason for selecting this 13 minute video to feature was because it strongly highlights the true conservation success story of the rebound of the native wild turkey population in Florida. Much of this success is due to the land management and wildlife conservation practices of Florida farmers and ranchers, who provide the private land habitat for these majestic native wildlife species.
