This week’s featured video was published by the American Angus Association to make producers aware of upcoming changes to the $ Index values. With so many different EPD values now available for the numerous traits measured, EPD indexes make breeding cattle selection much simpler. These indexes, that were first created in 2004, and are going to be updated in June of 2019 to better reflect the combination of traits deemed most importance to the beef industry. The part that may be of greatest interest to Commercial Cow-calf producers is the new Maternal Index ($M). Watch the video to hear about what the Angus breed will be introducing in June.
