Video Cool-Season Forage Tour
Typically the forage extension specialists provide tours of their forage demonstration and evaluation plots each spring, but this year, due to COVID19, they filmed the tour to share with producers. Dr. Ann Blount, UF/IFAS Forage Breeder discusses the different cool-season forage options evaluated in the fall and winter of 2019-20, with her recommendations for use of the different varieties that are commercially available in the following video that was recorded back in April. Below the video is the graphic that was shared a general summary of the cool-season variety trials this past season.

2020 Cool-Season Forage Recommendations
Each year forage breeders and extension specialists from the southern states compare notes from their variety trials to provide recommended varieties for planting of cool-season annual forages the following season. The latest recommendations for Florida producers has been added to the UF/IFAS Extension EDIS website for distribution. Use the following link for the 2020 recommendations.
