This week’s featured video was published by Sloan Express to introduce a neat tool/gadget for hay feeding. The Hay Knife features a razor blade on a 29″ handle for cutting twine, mesh, plastic wrap or silage bags, and also includes a hook to quickly remove it from a hay bale before dropping the bale into a hay ring. Pocket knives are the standard tool for removing the twine or net-wrap covering on hay bales, but I can see the advantage of a razor blade with a nice long handle for cutting and the hook to aid in pulling off the covering. Check out the video to see this tool in action. If you want more information on the Hay Knife, go to their website for pricing and more details: Sloan Express Hay Knife
