This week’s featured video was published by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) to highlight Rocking K Cattle Company as a 2023 Ag Environmental Leadership Award winner. Kelly Fulford, Odessa, Florida, owns and operates a very unique cattle operation in Hillsborough County. The ranchland she manages is actually a 1,600 acre nature preserve owned by Hillsborough County that Rocking K leases for cattle grazing. This video primarily focuses on the Best Management Practices (BMPs) utilized by Rocking K to protect water quality, but their unique arrangement to farm on the Lake Francis Nature Preserve is also very interesting. Watch the video to learn about this unique cattle ranching operation in Central Florida.
