This week’s featured video was published by the National Center for Appropriate Technology (NCAT) to promote the agrivoltaic movement. According to USDA, agrivoltaics are the use of land for both agriculture and solar energy for electricity generation. It’s also sometimes referred to as agrisolar, dual use solar, low impact solar, or solar grazing. The main idea is to construct the solar fields in a way that crops can to be grown, or livestock can graze forages around the structures. With this approach, solar farms do not completely eliminate agricultural production, or farms can generate long-term income from solar fields to supplement traditional farm production . If after watching this video you want more information on this topic, visit the AgriSolar Clearinghouse website.
