This week’s featured video is an interview of Dr. Angela Gonllea, UF/IFAS Beef Reproduction Specialist, on the Beef Pod Cast Show. This episode was hosted by Brandi Buzzard, who is a rancher, working mom, and wife in Southeast Kansas. The discussion in this episode was focused on utilizing reproductive technologies, such as a defined breeding season, pregnancy testing, herd synchronization, and artificial insemination (A.I.) to improve the efficiency of a beef herd. In the video, Dr. Gonella said, “If you are a small producer with five cows,or if you are very large rancher with thousands of cows, there are options of Repro technology that you can adopt (to improve the efficiency of your herd), with a lot of options in the market right now and I would love to see that producers use this technology more and more every year.” Watch the video to find out more about Dr. Gonella, her passion for helping cattle ranchers, and the reproductive technologies that can make beef ranches more sustainable.
