Friday Feature: Larry McArthur’s 50th Peanut Harvest

This week’s featured video was published by Field Rows to highlight the kickoff the peanut harvest season.  This year is extra special at McArthur Farms, Malone, Florida, because 2024 is Larry McArthur’s 50th year growing peanuts in Jackson County.  In the video, Jim and Larry McArthur discuss how the decision is made as to when to harvest their peanuts.  When to harvest a given field is one of the most important decisions peanut farmers make, as harvest date determines the maturity, weight, and quality of the peanuts that are sold.  Watch the video to hear this veteran peanut farmer share words of wisdom at peanut harvest.  Congratulations to Larry McArthur on reaching this honorable milestone of 50 years of peanut farming.
