The Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) Research and Education Center (REC), in Quincy, Florida and FAMU Extension Gadsden County are hosting the 2024 Sugarcane Field Day. The event will be held on Thursday November 7th, at the FAMU REC in Quincy at 4259 Bainbridge Highway Quincy, FL 32352. The field day is a free event for local sugarcane producers to attend. Workshops will focus on small acreage production, sugarcane harvest safety, pests in sugarcane, and a chance for participants to harvest seed cane for use on their farm.
