This week’s featured video is a 1968 16mm film that shares the history and challenges of farming in the U.S. from the end of the Civil War to the early 1900s. Farmers in the late 1800s had some significant obstacles to overcome with almost no unified voice. This was the time when community Grange meetings began with farm families working together to address key issues. It was also a time in history when technology began to transform subsistence farming into an industry. Watch this video to gain a new appreciation for the advances our forefathers made to build the foundation of modern agriculture in this country.
