This week’s featured video was published by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) to share the story of Jim Strickland, who was inducted into the Florida Ag Hall of Fame, in February. Jim’s family has been cattle ranching in Florida since the 1860s. He grew up on a ranch along the Myakka River, in Manatee County. Jim has been a true conservationist in Florida, giving significant time and leadership to ensuring Florida is not completely developed, with ranch land preserved for future generations. Watch the video to hear Jim Strickland’s lifetime achievements serving Florida Agriculture in a wide range of leadership roles.
