It is time to begin preparations for winter forage crops. There will be discussion on the advantages and disadvantages of planting your winter forage into a prepared seedbed and/or overseeding into dormant warm season perennials, cool season forage varieties, and a short discussion reviewing the summer legume trials and varieties that were held in Jefferson County. With environmental factors like drought affecting things like planting methods, timing, and varieties this year this year’s pasture walk will be an event you won’t want to miss.
The event will take place October 7th, 2025, from 4:00 PM EDT to sundown.
Location: 170 Ashville Highway, Monticello, FL 32344
Please RSVP with Ben Hoffner by October 1st.
**Meal sponsored by Jefferson County Soil & Water Conservation District**
