Join us in Blountstown on Thursday, October 24 from 8:30 am – 2:30 pm for a workshop hosted by the Florida Forest Service Chipola District, designed for forest landowners, land managers, and natural resource professionals. This workshop will consist of a field tour of a forest landowner’s property where participants can see where forestry practices have been implemented. Presenters will discuss the process of idea to implementation. We will cover the fundamentals of selecting and planting seedlings, as well as highlight various replanting programs available to landowners. This field tour will showcase some of the forest management activities taking place such as replanting, thinning, and pine straw production.
Participants will have the chance to ask questions, share successful practices, and provide suggestions on how to enhance the material and programs presented during a Q&A session following the field tour. Lunch will be provided. Topics will include forest management, wildlife management, replanting pines, pine seedlings, programs for forest landowners, benefits of hiring a forestry consultant, and other related topics

Field Tour directions from Blountstown. Take Highway 71 south for 8 miles turn right on Carlos Peavy Rd and take it across to CR 275, take a right on 275 for 1/2 mile property will be on the right.
