Getting cattle bred to have calves born during a targeted period is one of the key practices that can help ranchers be more efficient with their management resources, while also applying performance selection pressure to select cattle that are best adapted to the management system and climate of the operation.   This is the reason that UF/IFAS Extension Gadsden County and the FAMU Research and Education Center in Quincy, FL, are hosting a Breeding Season Management Seminar, on Tuesday December 10th. The workshop is centered on helping farmers and ranchers who want to start or are new to breeding season management, to learn about how to set-up this process. The workshop will feature hands on activities such as chute side pregnancy diagnosis, along with presentations on designing breeding season management plans, bull selection, and more.

The registration for the event is $30 and covers lunch and training supplies. For more information, contact Robbie Jones, Gadsden County Extension Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent at 850-875-7255 or r.jones1@ufl.edu.
