Row Crop Farmers are invited to the 2025 Row Crop Production Meeting, in Jay, Florida. This event, which was rescheduled because of the snow week in January, will bring together top experts to share the latest research, best management practices, and updates to help you make informed decisions for your farm.

Expert Speakers and Topics

  • Dr. Barry Tillman, University of Florida – Peanut Variety Trials: highlighting the performance of different varieties under local conditions. The session will cover varieties with resistance to nematodes and key diseases, offering insights to help growers make informed decisions about variety selection. Attendees will learn how to select crops that align with their production goals while improving resilience and profitability.
  • Dr. Scott Graham, Auburn University – Insect Control and Research Updates: updates on insect control strategies for cotton and peanuts, focusing on the latest research findings and best management practices. His talk will cover chemical control methods, including insecticide options as well as economic thresholds for spraying to ensure effective pest suppression while minimizing unnecessary applications.
  • Dr. Glen Harris, University of Georgia – Fertility Management for Row Crops: Cotton, corn and peanut fertility would be the focus. Nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and sulfur fertilization as well as types of fertilizer and use (liquid vs granular, splits, timing, etc) will be covered.
  • Dr. Bob Kemerait, University of Georgia – Row Crop Disease Control: General disease management for row crops, product efficacy, application rates and timing, disease identification and specific treatment data from trials will all be discussed.
