This week’s featured video was published by Sunup TV, which is a weekly public television show provided by the Oklahoma Extension Service.  In this video, Dr. Rosslyn Biggs, DVM, and OSU Extension Beef Cattle Specialist, discusses managing Grass Tetany, which is a serious magnesium deficiency.  Grass Tetany is most commonly an issue for cows in their first two months of lactation after calving when they are grazing fast growing cool-season annual pastures such as wheat in Oklahoma, or oats and ryegrass in the Southeast.  Watch the video to hear an overview of the symptoms, prevention management, and treatment of Grass Tetany in beef cows.
