This week’s featured video was published by Agricision to promote their OnTrack basic level GPS Guidance equipment. GPS guidance is not new technology, as light bars and RTK equipment options have been available for some time. What is unique about this innovative product is the simplistic design. The GPS receiver uses a magnet or sticker to mount to the hood (bonnet in the UK) of your tractor and an app on your tablet or smartphone as the monitor. For just under $1,000. you can have GPS guidance to help you prevent overlaps or skips when you apply pesticides, spread seeds or fertilizer, or most any other operation. Because the system is so simple, it can be easily used on different tractors or equipment, as both the receiver and monitor (your phone or tablet) are battery powered with no wires to connect. However, this is not auto-steer, but a simple monitor to guide manual steering. Watch the video to see innovative product that a British Company has developed which allows every farmer the opportunity to improve efficiency with GPS technology on any type of equipment. Special thanks to Dr. Pete Vergot, Emeritus UF/IFAS Extension District Director, for sending in this week’s video.
