This week’s featured video was published by Lance Geiger, better known as, “The History Guy” to share the history of beekeeping.  Humans have interacted with bees to collect honey for thousands of years.  In the beginning, man harvested honey from wild bees in trees.  Over time people started figuring out ways to cultivate bee hives to make collection easier.  The first man-made bee hives had to be destroyed to collect the honey.  In 1852, the Langstroth Hive was patented that became the standard of modern beekeeping.   Watch the video to hear a short overview of the long history of the relationship between humans and honeybees from The History Guy.
