On December 20, 2020, the US EPA issued new labels for herbicide products containing low volatility formulations of dicamba. So, there are new labels for XtendiMax, Engenia, Tavium, and Fexapan herbicides for the 2021 season. These newer dicamba herbicide products are Restricted Use Pesticides (RUP), so anyone who applies, handles, or mixes these herbicides should have a restricted pesticide applicator license. Another important requirement to apply these products is attendance of a dicamba stewardship certification training. This training must be reviewed on an annual basis, as the certification from prior years will not be valid. In Florida, this requirement can be fulfilled by attending the online dicamba stewardship training developed by UF/IFAS Extension. This online training is provided by the UF/IFAS Pesticide Education Office by through their Online Learning Center where CEU courses are offered.  The 20201 Dicamba Stewardship training is available for free by using the following link:

2021 Dicamba Stewardship Training

After completion of the training, a transcript (certificate) is available for printing to prove you have completed the training.

The requirements for taking this online dicamba training include:

  1. A good internet connection.
  2. Web page browser other than Internet Explorer
  3. Email address: Needed to create an account and password to access the training website.
  4. There are two modules in the training (36 minutes combined). Both the modules must be watched completely to get the certificate.
  5. Training is provided at no cost to participants

Step 1: Use the link provided in the graphic below to access the 2021 Dicamba Stewardship Training and complete the registration with an email and desired password

Step 2: After you are logged in, click on the “Dashboard” on the left ribbon. You will be able to see dashboard as shown below.

Step 3: Select “PICE 2021 Dicamba Stewardship Training” as shown in picture below. Select “Modules” then watch “Dicamba Part 1” and “Dicamba Part 2”.

Step 4: After completing both modules then you will see as shown below. Click “PDF Transcript” which will allow you to print the certificate. Print at least two copies, one to file with your pesticide records, and one for your truck to show to your chemical suppliers.  Once the dicamba transcript is printed, the training is complete.

There are no CEUs provided for participation in this online training, however, it is being provided at no cost to the participant.  Participation in this training is required for the certificate that allows applicators to purchase and apply these four specific restricted use dicamba products.  Please contact your local UF/IFAS County Extension Office if you need assistance participating in this online dicamba training.
