Alabama Extension has developed an online course called Forage Basics that will be available starting September 1st. This course is a collaboration among extension specialists and Auburn University College of Agriculture faculty, with financial support from a grant by the Southern Extension Risk Management Education/USDA. The course serves as a new tool for livestock and forage producers in the Southeast region and provides information about forage production, management and quality, feed storage, budgeting and weed and insect management.
This is a free, self-paced course with 20-chapters of around 10-min each. Each chapter includes short videos as well as lists of important resources and short quizzes that reinforce key content from each chapter. After finishing the course, participants will receive a certificate of completion. To learn more about and enroll in the course, please visit www.aces.edu/go/foragebasics/.
