This week’s featured video was produced by the Florida Department of Agriculture’s Office of Ag Water Policy to answer a basic question, “How to Enroll in the Ag BMP Program?” The video outlines the three basic steps of enrollment into Florida Agriculture’s Best Management Practice (BMP) Program that protects farmers and ranchers from permitting and water quality testing requirements.
Agricultural Best Management Practices (BMPs) are practical measures that producers can take to reduce the amount of fertilizers, animal waste, and other pollutants entering our water
resources. BMPs are designed to improve water quality while maintaining agricultural production. The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) has adopted BMPs for most commodities in the state. FDACS Office of Ag Water Policy
