The Jackson County Extension Office (2741 Penn Ave., Marianna, FL) will host the annual Panhandle Row Crop Short Course on Thursday, March 7th, 2024. Registration and trade show begin at 7:15 AM (Central) with the meeting starting promptly at 7:45 AM. The program concludes with a sponsored lunch at 12:00 PM.
This production meeting will address early season management of cotton and peanut. Attendees will hear Extension specialists from the University of Florida and Georgia provide research updates, as well as comments from representatives of the Florida Peanut Producers Association and the Cotton Board. Topics to be addressed include peanut varieties & replanting decisions, cotton variety performance & selection, the cotton stakeholder engagement program, as well as peanut and cotton weed and disease management.
