On March 22nd, 2024, the Wiregrass Research Education Center (WREC) in Headland, Alabama will host its annual Cover Crop Field Day (167 E AL HWY 134, Headland, AL 36345).
This program begins at 8:30 AM CST and will cover a range of topics including cover crop species selection, small grain variety selection, cover crops for specialty crops, small-scale equipment demos, drones for cover crop seeding, carinata varieties, and cover crop seeding rates. Lunch will be provided at 12:00 PM, followed by a four person panel discussion at 1:00 PM comprised of representatives from the Soil Health Institute, Golden Peanut, U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol, and NRCS.
