2025 FL Beef Short Course Header

The 74th Annual Beef Cattle Short Course will be hosted on May 7-9, 2025, in Gainesville.The theme for 2025 is “Riding the High Tide – Decision Making in a Record Cattle Market.”  A slate of nationally renowned speakers is scheduled to provide information on genetics, animal health, marketing, management, and bull selection at this year’s Beef Cattle Short Course. Additionally, Friday morning highlights the careers of
two of the Gulf Coast’s most successful forage researchers.  Drs. Sollenberger and Rouquette have 94 years of combined experience in grazing research. This will certainly be a short course you won’t want to miss.  The program will include lectures from influential external speakers, outstanding University of Florida faculty members, short presentations of research updates, hands-on activities and social gatherings with delicious food. Parallel to the main program, the Department of Animal Sciences will offer the Annual UF Brahman Bull and Brahman Heifer Sale, including on-site viewing of animals. Overall, we are looking forward to greeting you in-person, shaking your hand, and delivering industry relevant, science-based information to you.
