KR was born in Pinellas County Florida where she lived for 4 years and then grew up in Leon County.
Her father was a marine biologist/ecologistand her mother was an artist/activist. She has lived and worked in north FL, western NC, AR, OK and MI learning about the different biomes. She graduated from ABAC, Clemson and UF with a focus in Fruit and Vegetable Production. She has worked for Univ. of Ark., and Oklahoma State Univ.
She has a great interest in underdeveloped native fruits with economic potential, pollinators, industrial hemp, herpetology and livestock.
